They're hope-filled and heartwarming—but they don't shy away from the depth and complexity of real life.
MY WORK
CHASING CLOCKS
Voices of the Future Volume 7

“A brother’s ’bout the best thing
you could wish for.”
Reuben Byrne may not be able to fill the shoes his older brother left behind—but he can show his little brother, Robbie, how much he cares about him. The plan? Risk suspension by sneaking off school grounds, traveling to London on the afternoon train, and purchasing the golden pocket watch Robbie desperately wants for his birthday.
But a slew of challenges might be enough to derail the whole grand idea. In the end, will Reuben’s sacrifice be enough to mend things with Robbie, in spite of losing the brother who held them together?
Chasing Clocks is a historical fiction short story that will be published in a collection through The Author Conservatory as a fundraiser to send young writers (like myself) to conferences so we can build our careers.

MEET THE AUTHOR
MICAIAH KEOUGH
I was born with storytelling in my veins—I like to think so, anyway. I grew up in Hawaii and spent countless hours outdoors risking life and limb with my siblings. I live for everyday adventure… and I understand the fear that creeps in despite courage. This is why I write uplifting stories, ones filled with hope and heart and adventure. To give others a glimpse at the light we all crave.
I’m in my final year of studies at The Author Conservatory, where I’ve had the honor of being mentored by industry professionals in both business and writing. In September 2025, my short story, Chasing Clocks, will be featured in the seventh installation of Voices of the Future. I also work as a line editor and proofreader for Glory Writers Press, where I offer critique to award-winning, independently published authors and student writers.
You can almost always find me with a cup of coffee in hand, a plane ticket booked, and indie acoustic music blaring in the background. I love my family and friends, am an ocean girlie at heart, and want to spend this life chasing Jesus and sharing His heart with the world.
What makes my stories different?
Hey, I’d love to stay in touch! If you enjoy stories filled with adventure, heart, and a thread of hope, I share occasional updates, behind-the-scenes thoughts, and early news on what’s coming next. It’s more like a quiet conversation between friends than a newsletter — just a small way to stay connected on this storytelling journey.
